Get Paid to Have a Conversation: Looking for Professionals to Share Their Career Experiences

We are looking for native-born English speakers with strong communication skills to be interviewed for an online language (ESL) education course.

Ideally you will be currently working in a corporate/professional setting in any industry or have significant past experience in these settings. However, past corporate/professional experience is acceptable as well.

The project consists of one on-camera interview (1-1 conversation) with a member of our team. The interview will be about 60 minutes total and will be conducted remotely online.

The conversation will be recorded and will be used as foundational material for our next English as a Second Language (ESL) course on Professional English for adult learners/global professionals.

You can speak naturally and at a normal pace.

The content will be focused on career and business.

PAY:

We’re happy to pay $100 for the one-hour project.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • English is your first language.
  • You engage regularly in meetings in a professional context.
  • You deliver presentations in some form on a regular basis.
  • You are willing to share your experiences/thoughts regarding your work/industry.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This will be a video interview. Use an external webcam or use your built-in webcam if it’s high quality
  • Use a high-quality microphone, preferably external or have high-quality built-in computer mic.
  • Camera Angle. You should be able to look directly into the camera- not placed below it or above it. Your head and the top half of your torso should be in frame.
  • Professional presentation/business casual look.
  • Lighting- Your lighting should be suitable for a professional environment. You should not be backlit or overly exposed.
  • Headphones- Please wear headphones.
  • Background- The background behind you should look clean and organized. There should not be extra items on the floor that could be distracting. Suggestions: sit in front of a solid color wall, a wall with artwork, a bookshelf, or plants.
  • No virtual backgrounds please.

  • How has your industry changed? What changes do you anticipate in the future?
  • Tips for successful job interviews
  • Your opinions about how to make meetings productive
  • Your opinions about how to make a presentation effective

HOW TO APPLY:

In the video, tell us what you do for work, how long you have worked in that industry, and how often you deliver presentations and participate in meetings of any kind at work.

Also please submit your time zone/location and availability within the next 2 weeks.

You will be required to sign a copyright and intellectual property release form so that we can use the content as part of our paid courses.

You will also be asked to provide a high quality headshot image.
