Reflections On A Major Milestone

1500 shows—it’s hard to believe and so very rewarding!

This is a huge milestone, and one to really celebrate and reflect upon!

How do we feel 1500 episodes in?

Where is AEE going in the future?

Who is the typical AEE listener, what can they expect from the next 1500 episodes?

These are the types of questions that we’ve asked yourselves, particularly as we face this huge milestone.

That’s a lot of episodes, and we have grown as an organization and as individuals in this whole process.

Sometimes it can be fun to reflect back upon who you are today, and how you got there.

We are using this big milestone to help us focus on the process of reflection, but also how you can use this sort of thinking to start a conversation with somebody else.

We look back to episode 15 as a really fun way of reflecting on how far we’ve come.

AEE Episode 15: How To Bring Native English Speakers To You

Use this way of thinking and approach as a fun way of reflecting upon who you were at just 15 years old.

You will see that this brings back some great memories, but it also can lead to some amazing conversations with others.

So as we reflect upon where we are today and how far we’ve come with our show, you can use this same approach to consider who you were in your younger years.

Conversation Questions About How You Were At 15

We’re going to take a look at some questions that help you to reflect upon who you were and what you were like at the tender age of 15.

This is such a time of transition in your life, and therefore it can be an interesting snapshot of your life to look back on.

These questions are fun to answer and to look back on, and they can be great for you to use to examine yourself.

You want to look back on the person that you were, and the person that you are today.

Take a look at these questions, and then answer them on your own.

These can be good for you to look at yourself, but also great to use as conversation starters.

If you want to connect with someone, getting them to talk about themselves or their life can be a great way to go.

  • What were you like when you were 15?
  • Are you still friends with the people you were friends with when you were 15?
  • Did you fight with your parents when you were 15? Over what?
  • What was your favorite show? Favorite Movie? Favorite Musician?
  • What was your style like at 15?
  • What did you REALLY want at 15? To drive? A career?

There are so many questions to think through here, and this can be a fun exercise.

Start with these and answer the on your own to get started in the right direction, so that you have a foundation.

Then use these as a platform to start up a conversation with somebody, or to make a deeper and more meaningful connection with somebody in your life.

These can be a great way to practice your language learning, your listening skills, and help to foster some excellent communication between you and somebody else in your life.

Takeaway

These are great conversation questions, and they can really help to get things going.

People love reminiscing and talking about themselves at different ages, and the teenage years are especially fun.

Be sure that you answer these on your own first, as this can be an excellent way to practice your English speaking beforehand.

This can be a fun and highly effective way to learn more about others, and to improve your listening and speaking skills all at the same time.

Try these out today and think about how YOU have changed as an AEE listener in all these episodes, even if you haven’t listened to 1500!
