Today you’ll hear Adriana’s advice to achieve IELTS 7 and higher.
Adriana, a 3 Keys student, just got a 7.5 in Listening, 6.5 in Reading and Writing, and a 7 in Speaking, leading to her IELTS overall score of 7, which is exactly what she needed!
Now she never has to worry about IELTS again, and can continue with her dream of becoming a veterinarian in the U.S.
Before receiving this score, she had taken IELTS 5 times, and simply could not get the scores she needed.
Adriana only started learning English two years ago! Thus, her level was not high enough for the IELTS Exam at first. Then, after moving to the U.S., she couldn’t find a real IELTS teacher.
She could only find TOEFL teachers who could not properly prepare her for an exam they weren’t familiar with. (Even though the school told her they could teach IELTS.)
Adriana also learned that she needed to be of an intermediate level of English or higher before tackling IELTS preparation.
After improving her English, she got a 5.5 in Listening, 6. in Reading, 6 in Speaking, and 5 in Writing. That’s why she enrolled in The 3 Keys IELTS Success System.

Improve from a 6 to a 6.5 in Reading
- Read newspapers, like the New York Times, 3 times a week
- Read an article, then summarize it to yourself out loud
Improve from a 5 to a 6.5 in Writing
- Keep a journal about what you read
- Adriana did more than 50 Task 1’s and Task 2’s (that’s a lot- don’t over-practice!)
- She didn’t understand Writing Task 1 before 3 Keys- then she learned how to write about it and what vocabulary to use
Above all, getting the IELTS scores you need necessitates hard work and smart preparation.
