Today you’ll learn how to use your interests for the highest Speaking scores.
Recently, a 3 Keys student asked:
Today I need to share some terrible feelings I had while studying the Speaking Module. I could understand the tips and the given examples made it all very clear, but, when I tried to put them into practice, I just don’t feel comfortable. It simply doesn’t work, and there are only 10 days remaining before test day.
Luckily, this student met with Jessica the following day for a Personal Coach session, and she felt much more confident heading into her exam.
Firstly, you need to know yourself first so you know what you want to talk about on the exam.

Listen to some brainstorming episodes for examples:
You have to be yourself on the exam! That is the most important takeaway today.
Don’t talk about what you think the examiner wants to hear– that leads to poor expressiveness, as all your answers will sound the same.
Vocab. and Fluency will also not be great, because you won’t have a lot to say if you’re not being yourself.
Fill your head with ideas for the exam by following your interests.
Your homework:
- Make a list if things that you love, make you happy, want to learn about, or are interested in.
- Find material related to these things- podcasts, books, movies, TV shows, etc.
- Add these materials to your study plan!
