Today you’ll hear about recent 2019 IELTS Speaking Exam questions.

A 3 Keys student just took the exam in Germany, and shared his experience with the students in our closed Facebook group.

Today, we’ll report on the Speaking questions, and talk about how you can answer them successfully, and tomorrow we’ll discuss the Writing questions he had.

Recent IELTS Speaking Part 1 Questions

Tell me about your current city.

Mistakes are possible here!

The first questions are easy, about your home, work or school. Some students don’t even realize the exam has begun at this point, and don’t give fluent answers.

Don’t give a super short answer, and don’t sound like an encyclopedia.

Put yourself and your personality in the answer, and this will lead to higher Fluency, Vocabulary and Pronunciation scores!

Our student’s IELTS Part 2 card asked him to describe a place he enjoys studying, indoors or outdoors.

This is an odd Part 2 question!

You could describe a cafe for an indoor place. Describe the place in detail, what it looks like, what the people look like, what snacks and beverages you get, and then talk about a story of one time you studied there.

If you feel like you’ve run out of ideas, you could also add a description of an outdoor place to study, like a park.

Don’t stop talking! That silence gets awkward.

The IELTS Speaking Part 3 questions following this could be about the amount of homework children have, changes in curriculum, problems and solutions for education in your country, etc.

If you’re not familiar with current school trends, talk about your own memories by saying, ‘Back in my day, ...’.
