Recently, a subscriber, Sukhchain Singh, asked me to provide a sample answer for this difficult IELTS Speaking Part 2 cue card, describing a book I’d like to write.
Before we get to that, check out these other videos related to books:

Now, if you get this Part 2 cue card, you have two choices.
You can talk about a fiction novel you would write, or a memoir of your life.
The former would be super tough for most people, creating a story for a novel on the spot.
It’s much easier to say that you’d want to write a memoir of your life, because then you could just talk about interesting, notable or difficult experiences you’ve had.

Watch my sample answer a couple times, and note down any interesting vocabulary and transitions I use.
Also, notice how I offer a lot of context at the beginning, talking about how difficult this topic was, and how challenging it would be to just write a book.
For tough topics like this, offering context about the question itself can eat up a good 30 seconds at least, and then it’s easier to fluently fill the rest of the time.
