On IELTS Speaking Part 3, many students are worried about how to effectively support their opinions and reasons.

You know you must provide specific examples, but what examples should you give?

Describing personal examples is always an option, as these can be easy to think of. Also, when we describe a personal memory, our pronunciation tends to be more expressive.

However, you can’t use personal examples in every answer!

Do you want to appear more mature and more informed than other students? Use real stories and examples that you have read or seen in the news. This DEFINITELY impresses the IELTS examiner!



Of course, in order to do this, you need to be living the culture of thinking. Read the newspaper, watch news on TV, and listen to talk radio.

As you watch today, write down the opinion phrases that I use instead of “I think”, high-level vocabulary, and specific examples I offer.
