Can you talk about math or science classes you had in elementary or high school? You may have to on your IELTS Exam!
For many IELTS candidates, memories of childhood, especially specific early classes, may be difficult to recall.
You may face questions about your recollections on these past events in Speaking Part 1, or you may even be asked to discuss them for 2 minutes in Speaking Part 2.
Challenging!

TV Programs- Math and Science
Bill Nye The Science Guy– This show was made for kids, and is all about basic (and not so basic) science concepts and cool experiments.
Odd Squad– This is a great show made for kids, about children agents of the “Odd Squad”, who use math to solve mysteries.
The Wonder Years– I loved this show growing up! Though it doesn’t take place all in a science or math classroom, the teenage drama will certainly connect you to your adolescence.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer– OK, getting slightly off-topic with this one. Yes- the characters are all in high school, and study those subjects- with a healthy dose of vampires and magic.
Freaks and Geeks– It’s a comedy about high school kids, and launched some of today’s biggest Hollywood stars.
Movies- Match and Science
Weird Science– 1980’s cult classic! Two high school boys make a human woman in a freak computer accident. And chaos ensues.
Harry Potter– You know this! Mixing spells could be considered science. At least you’ll learn some magical vocabulary associated with school!
Good Will Hunting– Another classic. This film features university-aged and older characters, and one math genius from the wrong side of town.
