1. Memorize a template
I’m not telling you to memorize an essay- that, obviously, will get you low scores.
However, you do need to memorize an outline that tells you what linking words to use and where to put your ideas. You need to know where exactly to put your opinion, main ideas, reasons, examples and details.
Don’t let teachers confuse you by asking you to practice and use too many different templates and structures.

2. Practice timing
Two weeks before your exam, you must sit down three times a week, for one hour, and practice writing both tasks.
3. Don’t waste time in your brainstorm
The first idea that comes to mind is usually an obvious reason connected to the topic. This is perfect!
Don’t try and think up complicated, impressive ideas for your reasons/examples. These, actually, often decrease your scores, because the resulting communication is confusing and unclear.
When you brainstorm, write down the first reason that comes to mind, and also note down one example with three details.
You only need to brainstorm enough for a paragraph. Don’t waste your time writing too much here.
