Getting Help From The Experts

The World Wanderers are a traveling couple who are podcast hosts who are in Western Canada

They have been fully nomadic for the past five years, and have been all over the world.

Amanda helps yoga teachers to grow their business, and Ryan helps with podcast audio production.

They have been to 65 countries, and even repeated some at this point. They fell in love with traveling, so this was a natural lifestyle choice.

They found that there was a need for a podcast of this type because there wasn’t a lot out there.

So they married their love of travel and need for a good podcast, and this came to life!

They have found that it can make a big difference if you are traveling to a country where you go when you know the basics of a language but it’s not your first language.

It can be frustrating and challenging if you are in an experience where you don’t speak the language well.

Taking the time to learn the language more than just the basics can help you a lot when you go to visit that country—taking it to an intermediate level can help you to make connections.

If you take the time to learn the language in a good way, you can get a good handle on communicating in that country.

You can get a feel for the people and everything feels more open to you when you can communicate well in another country.

Three Tips For Language Learning As It Relates To Travel

The World Wanderers have learned so much through their travels, and they have put together some tips to help you in yours.

These are the three tips for language learning as it relates to travel that can help you to make the most out of your trip.

They can help you to be prepared, but also ensure that you know how to make the most out of this adventure abroad.

1. Try to learn that new language: Don’t worry if something will be useful for you in that country. You might not see value in investing in more than just the basics, but there really can be. If you get a language teacher and really practice, it can help a lot. Find the value in learning more than just the basics, and this will help you. It’s all about being able to connect with people and making those meaningful relationships when you are in this new country.

2. Take language lessons: This may be with a local teacher or at a local school. It can make a huge difference to actively learn the language with a local! You can hear the words being used and in a local accent, and this will help you tremendously. You won’t stand out as somebody who is not a native. You get to know people and this helps to break down the barriers that you might otherwise encounter in this new country and culture. It’s about learning how locals actually speak and to get to know the locals where you are going.

3. If you are new to the language in this country take the time to learn keywords: Take the time to learn the food phrases for things that you like to eat so you can order in a restaurant. Spend some time to learn a good amount of words and it helps to put you in a better position for when you get there. You can decipher a menu for example if you take the time to learn some of these keywords. It goes a long way to say “thank you” in that native language, and so learning phrases like this matter greatly. Taking the time to order your food for example in that native language helps others to want to engage with you further. You can’t always expect others to speak English even if it’s common there. Knowing how to communicate, especially learning the basic but important keywords can help you a lot.

These tips can help you so much as you travel to a new country and want to be able to communicate in an effective manner.

They can take you to the next level and ensure that you can make some great connections along the way.

Taking Your Learning To Another Level

A good bonus tip is to download Google Translate before you go and it will help you so much!

If you are struggling to say something or pronounce something, then Google Translate can help you with this situation.

Being able to translate things on the spot takes some of the stress out of things.

Be sure to download it ahead of time and then you can use it as the need comes up.

Then you can work your way through situations where you want to be able to know the right thing to say or how to pronounce things properly.

Whatever preparation that you can put in will help you so much when you go to this new place, and this can make for an excellent experience overall.

These tips come from our experts who have lived this and learned so much along the way.

You can find the podcast The World Wanderers on any platform that you may use, or you can find them on their website at Theworldwanderers.com.

Takeaway

Learning a new language can take time, but can benefit you greatly when you are traveling to a new country.

These are some great tips that can help you to be prepared and to make it through whatever situation you may encounter.

It goes a long way with natives when you are able to communicate with them in their own language.

This helps you to make important connections and to enjoy the experience so much more.

This makes for a great way of learning, and it ensures that you are prepared so that you can make the most out of the adventure in this new country.
