A subscriber
to our YouTube channel asked me to answer some IELTS Part 3 questions
not just about media, but specifically news
and photography.
The questions I answer in today’s video are:
1. What are the differences between a written
news story and a story with photos?
2. What are the positive developments of news
outlets asking people to send in their own photos of events as they are
happening?
In the second answer, note
how I talk
mostly about the negative developments at first.
This is the nature
of spontaneous speaking, as I do not
plan my answers before I record the video, in order to make my answers spur of the moment, just as you have to
do on your exam.
However, I do, at the end of that answer, bring it back
around to
address the positives, when I remembered that was the original question!
This would not lose any points on the exam. In
today’s lesson, I also address some recent
comments on the YouTube channel, disparaging
over the fact that students could not attain the level of my answers.
Would you want to have
lesser models? No.
My sample answers provide
you a goal to reach for.
Do not compare your own
answers with mine and be disappointed–
I’m a professional speaker of
English!
However, you should be
trying to learn as much as you can
from my samples,
as far as vocabulary, ideas and pronunciation go.
