You must include an overall trend.
- This is like the thesis statement for your essay.
- In Change Over Time, for example, the overall trend tells the examiner how the numbers changed, overall, from beginning to end.
- Even native speakers do not include overall trends in their essays, because they don’t know it has to be there!
You cannot put in your opinion.
- No opinions, no predictions.
- Only describe what you see.
You must use interesting vocabulary.
- You need interesting adverbs, adjectives and nouns to describe numbers.
- Don’t sound like every other student and just say stuff like increase dramatically.
