There was an awesome comment in our closed Facebook group by a 3 Keys student:
After hearing my own recordings of speaking practices, I find it’s not that easy to organize sentences when speaking out loud. I can easily be very excited and speechless. However, when I try to talk in a lower voice, with patience, the voice sounds more natural. I guess this could help me overcome my anxiety.
This student is putting in a lot of effort in his IELTS preparation, and it’s going to pay off in high scores!
If you speak in a lower voice, you do sound more relaxed and natural.
One’s voice goes up and reaches a high pitch when overly excited or panicked.
Slowing down is also a great strategy.

You don’t lose points for slowing down slightly, as long as there’s not silence and too many pauses between words.
Help yourself do this by taking a breath before you start answering. This is a natural thing to do!
Also, you can use informal fillers to give yourself time to collect your thoughts.
Try to find various environments to practice speaking, beyond the comforts of home. You have to challenge yourself to use the strategies.
Slowing down is a strategy to practice.
This helps you realize if you’re repeating something, or going off track, and you can say, “That’s not what I mean… I want to say…”
Also, slowing down gives you space to express yourself more, and use appropriate pitch, intonation and stress. This increases your Pronunciation score!
You have to have variation in your communication.
