We’ve mentioned before that reading the newspaper, especially a high-level one such as the New York Times, is a must in IELTS preparation.
You may think this is mainly to improve your reading comprehension, but that’s only one of the benefits.
The chief gain in reading the newspaper is to add to your ideas for Speaking and Writing, and, additionally, to enlarge your vocabulary.
When I went to the homepage of the Times this week, www.nytimes.com, there were 17 sections listed at the top.

Your goal is to read an article from a different section each time you visit the page.
Keep in mind, though, that the New York Times only allows you to read 10 free articles per month, so, when those run out, you can switch to reading The Guardian and The Washington Post.
