Task Achievement score
For Task 1 the score is called Task Achievement.
It’s more about achieving the task of the topic prompt.
Coming up with ideas is not as important.
Every word has to be reporting what you see.
Task Response score
For Task 2, the score is called Task Response.
For these essays, you are responding to a prompt.
You will need to come up with your own ideas, reasons and details.
There are many different ways to respond, as you will use your personal experience.
#2: Similarities between Task 1 and Task 2
Many strategies you need for Task 1 are also required on Task 2.
For both, the Task score requires you to be specific.
You need to share key numbers on Task 1 and specific details and examples on Task 2.
For both, the Cohesion/Coherence requires a variety of linking phrases.
The Vocabulary score for both essays requires less common vocabulary.
For the Grammar score, both essays need a variety of sentence structures.
This requirement is satisfied by using simple, compound and complex sentences.
