Today you’ll learn how to find your online IELTS community for continuous motivation.

If you’re preparing for the IELTS Exam by yourself, at home, it can feel lonely sometimes, and this is detrimental to your progress.

Thus, finding others online who are just as hard-working as you are will keep you going.

For our 3 Keys IELTS course, we’ve found that students really love the closed Facebook group and are extremely active in it.

Like Maeva’s recent post, for instance, where where she posted her really high scores, and then updated that with the fantastic news that she was approved to practice clinical psychology in New Zealand!

Careful of which online community you choose, though, that there are no negative people participating. There are certainly none of those people in our group!

Also, make sure that it’s moderated by and IELTS professional, so you aren’t drowning in myths and guesswork.

One student recently asked if they’d be provided with extra Writing answer sheets on the exam.

I immediately responded in the affirmative. This may seem like a small detail, but you should be very clear about absolutely everything before test day.

Another recent post was how to answer Task 2 questions that end with “Do you agree or disagree?”, whether he should answer using an Argument or an Opinion essay.

Argument for sure!

A vocabulary question also was posted, about the formality of the words “adore” and “hilarious“.

Perhaps they’re not formal, but they are certainly high-level. Great vocab. for speaking answers!

Online IELTS groups are great for getting the low-down on extra resources as well, such as the usefulness of a certain Cambridge writing site.

In our group, we have many special features as well, such as the monthly Writing Wizard contest.

Also, every Monday, Jessica posts a 7+ Insider Tip of the Week, and every Tuesday there is a brainstorm challenge linked to a different IELTS topic.
