We got some fantastic questions from a reviewer, Mustafa:

My question is about Writing Task 2. When we have an opinion essay, is it mandatory to show my opinion clearly in the thesis statement if I want to approach it like an argument? For instance, do I have to say that I agree with one side or another?

Second question, in Writing Task 1, we sometimes face long units. Is it mandatory to write the unit again and again, or only refer to it once?

In an Opinion Essay, the body is all about one side, whereas an Argument Essay shows two sides, including your opinion, in the body.

However, the introductions for both are basically the same, except for the thesis statement.

For instance, when you present both sides in the introduction, you present it the same way for both essays:

So, for an Argument Essay, you would say:

Task 2 is too short to waste any words. That’s why you need templates, like those in 3 Keys IELTS.

As to his second question about labeling numbers, like 1 million visitors, 2,000 units of carbon, when in doubt, label the number.

If it’s a percent, you have to label every number.

Also, if it’s a unit of money, or measurement, you should label every number as well.

However, it it’s something like ‘guests‘, you don’t have to put that word after every number.
