Today you’ll learn from 8+ IELTS sample Part 3 answers about animals.

In IELTS Speaking Part 3, you may be asked to answer questions about animals: their importance in your culture/country, the state of endangerment, possible inappropriate uses of animals, or perhaps unjust treatment of them.

These may not be topics you generally discuss, even in your first language.

That’s why you should read some articles about these issues, to gain insight into the various sides involved in these situations.

In the last video, you learned some high-scoring vocabulary to use when discussing specific animals, and today you’ll hear how I answer some IELTS Part 3 questions about animal issues.

IELTS Part 3 question: Are there problems with wild animals where you live?

In this answer, I say that I heard a story on my local NPR station about wolves coming in from the mountains to harm cattle on local farms.

Although I did hear a story about something related to this, I couldn’t remember it clearly and made up some of my own details. As long as you make up something that really could be true, you’re fine!

IELTS Part 3 question: Do you believe that animals should have the same rights as humans?

As you listen to my answer to this question, note how I honestly express my feelings on the topic, acknowledging the fact that I am in awe of animal rights activists who live their lives according to their beliefs, but I myself am not a vegetarian and do not strictly adhere to animal-rights guidelines for responsible consumerism.

IELTS Part 3 question: What is your opinion on battery farming?

This is a term that was explained in last week’s video!

Again, note how I try to give my honest opinion, instead of saying what I think the correct answer would be, or what the examiner would want to hear.

I express the unfairness of the practice, while admitting that, unfortunately, in a pinch I have bought eggs that are probably from producers using this method.

Now it’s your turn to practice!

Try to use some of the vocabulary and transition phrases your heard today in your own answers to today’s Speaking Part 3 questions.
