Today you’ll get a 5-day routine combining workouts and IELTS prep.
We are all busy adults. And, if you’re anything like me, you try to maximize your time by multi-tasking.
As you know, doing well on your IELTS Exam requires two elements: having a high level of English, and learning the testing skills and strategies for a 7+.
Improving your overall English could be done in a variety of contexts.
I listen to a lot of podcasts while I exercise, and the ideas below will give you a great 5-day routine for acquiring more English while also making yourself physically fit.
A fit body encourages a fit mind!
Monday
Start the week with a bang!
Run for one hour. (If you can’t run the whole time yet, take walking breaks.)
While you run, listen to How I Built This, a podcast about entrepreneurs, and get your mind inspired for the week ahead.

Tuesday
Find a workout on YouTube, in English, that you can do at home. I like the cardio-boxing ones.
When you finish, talk out loud for 5 minutes about the experience.
Wednesday
Give your body a rest. Your muscles need a break!
For 30 minutes, explore a section of an English-language newspaper that you would not normally look at.
Then, write about one interesting article. Write a 2 paragraph summary, then one paragraph about your opinion on the topics discussed.
Thursday
Do a one-hour interval session.
Alternate walking for 5 minutes and running for 5 minutes. When you run, run as fast as you can!
Listen to a comedy podcast, such as WTF, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, or How Did This Get Made.
When you get home, talk out loud to yourself for at least 5 minutes about how you felt during the workouts so far this week.
Friday
Find a yoga video, in English, on YouTube that you can do at home.
After the class, read an article online about health and wellness.
Finally, talk out loud for 10 minutes about the positive health and study habits you have created, and your future health and study goals.
