"The English Adventurer"

How do you ask native English speakers for advice on where to visit in their country or city?

Don’t just use your tourist guidebook when you travel!

Ask locals where to go so that you can have a more authentic experience.

Find out how to do it today.

Michelle is going to Japan!!

She is going to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto in January!

In this episode let’s give Michelle some advice on where to travel in Japan while we learn how to have this kind of conversation in English.

How to ask advice about an upcoming trip

  • What are some of the best spots for (sushi), (sightseeing), (shopping)?
  • Which neighborhoods should I check out?
  • What’s the (nightlife), (shopping), (culture), (music scene) like?
  • Where should I go for/to (meet locals), (escape the crowds)?
  • What are some less touristy places I can visit?
  • Are there any (day trips), (local restaurants) you’d recommend?

If you are from Japan or if you know Japan well please leave your advice on the blog for Michelle.

She leaves in early January and she will refer back to this blog while she is in Japan.

Help her out with your travel advice!
