Four phrases to talk about your travel experience:

  • “I was surprised by”
    • Example: “I was surprised by how easy it was to get around…the trains run so smoothly!”
  • “I was impressed by”
    • Example: “I was impressed by the food. I knew it would be good but I could never have imagined how good it could actually be! I overdid it!”
  • “I couldn’t believe how….”
    • Example: “I couldn’t believe how helpful the locals were! We got lost a couple of times in Osaka and people were very helpful.”
  • “It blew my mind how…”
    • Example: “It blew my mind how safe I felt. I felt extremely safe. Everything was so organized and people were so helpful.”

 

**Bonus: I couldn’t believe that I didn’t gain weight! I walked so much!
