Do you know how to write a perfect conclusion for IELTS Writing Task 2?

It doesn’t matter if you are an Academic or a General IELTS candidate, you have to write a killer Writing Task 2.

Your four paragraph essay is like a hamburger.

The introduction and conclusion paragraphs are like the bread- general. All the specific, impressive ideas are in the body paragraphs.

One rule to remember- do not introduce any new specific ideas in the conclusion.

The function of the conclusion is to simply wrap up the essay nicely.

You only need two sentences.

In the first sentence, paraphrase your opinion.

In the second sentence, provide your opinion on the future of the topic.

Here’s an example:

The advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages.

To what extent do you agree with this opinion?

Body Paragraph 2– Disadvantages of studying abroad

Body Paragraph 3– Advantages of studying abroad (my opinion)

Conclusion

In sum, to my mind, the benefits of learning outside one’s country far exceed the drawbacks of doing so. In the future I hope every college student has the opportunity to travel to foreign lands.

*Note- Do not begin your conclusion with In conclusion. That’s boring.
