Where can you find ideas to brainstorm?

  • Look up lists of conversation starters.

These are often very random questions which will prep you for odd IELTS questions!

  • Podcasts

Listen to podcasts for natives on a variety of topics.

Find something that interests you!

These will increase your vocabulary, improve your grammar and give you ideas!

  • Movies and television

Watch movies and TV in English.

Find a show or movie to stream that interests you.

Try watching both with and without subtitles.

Take it a step further!

After watching or listening, summarize the information out loud.

Write a summary as well!

Create hypothetical situations for yourself to respond to.

How would you react or respond in different characters’ situations?

This will help you prepare to respond to a wide variety of IELTS Speaking questions.
