Today’s question
I always find it difficult to answer Part 3 questions.
What should I do to improve my answers?
Interestingly, I have 8 days to practice. Thanks in advance.
Sabrina
This question is definitely compounded by the lack of time to prepare!
We’ll provide a 3-step formula for Part 3 questions that will help you be ready in just a few days!
#1: Narrate thoughts
Don’t be afraid to narrate what you think about the question or topic.
Share why you think this question is strange or interesting.
You often need time to think before answering Part 3 questions.
Narrate what you’re thinking aloud as you figure out what you want to say.
Question: Should big companies be punished more seriously than small companies?
Begin answer with: Hmm, well, if by “punished” you mean fined for breaking rules, then, yes!

#2: Transition
You then need to transition from narrating your initial thoughts to answering the question.
Do this by saying the first thing that comes to mind!
I mean, if we take Amazon, for example. If they do something nefarious, like overcharge for something, they stand to make a great deal more money from the millions of transactions that would a small company.
#3: Relate to your experience
After saying the first thing that comes to mind, you then transition again.
Relate your answer to something you personally know.
I actually bought a book on Amazon and then saw it at a local bookstore for so much cheaper! They should not be able to get away with charging such ridiculous prices!
This can be about your own experience or the experience of someone you know.
It can be something you saw on the news, read or heard on a podcast.
