AEE 844: Four Ways the Urban English Adventure Changes Your Future

urban English Adventure Boston with native speakers

Today we look back on the Urban English Adventure in Boston that we just completed in October.

We’ll show you how this adventure will change your English skills and your confidence forever!

This October program was a huge success!

We spent a lot of time together as a group.

The weekend was intense.

Our students in the program spent 32 program hours with us here in Boston and 12 of those hours were spent with native speakers completing challenges around the city.

Why does this Adventure change you?

  • Spontaneity: You can’t get this spontaneous English practice anywhere else! This is real-world English. It’s immediate and there is no time to rehearse, think, or plan ahead for the conversations that you’re going to have.

  • Confidence: By the end of the weekend students realize that they are capable of doing this. They can have these conversations about politics with native speakers, or perform a skit in English.

  • Native speakers: The native speakers in the program are amazing! They are kind, patient, and supportive. They are not teachers. They don’t slow down when they speak so they give you real English. Everyone becomes friends at the end of the program.

  • Telephone practice: During the Drama Lab students participate in a fun relay race that requires speaking on the phone and writing down information that a native speakers says. This is a fun game. After the game we sit down with the native speakers and talk about the telephone strategies.

  • Action plans: At the end of the program we meet with you one-on-one to deliver your action plan. Throughout the weekend we observe you and figure out what your weaknesses are and what your opportunities to improve are. Our feedback involves much more than just a report card on your English skills. We give you feedback about your interpersonal interactions and your own personal development.
