Today you’ll hear about Writing Task 2 questions that you should NOT practice with!

There are so many IELTS sites and books out there, and, unfortunately, not all of these resources are appropriate for your learning.

There are definitely some questions that are not valid, as far as modern-day IELTS goes!

Here is the first bad Task 2 question:

How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all careers? How realistic is the expectation of job satisfaction for all workers?

How can people be satisfied in their work?

Give your opinion on this and discuss the solutions.

There are too many questions in this question!

There is no way you could answer this well in 4 paragraphs, in 40 minutes, with about 250 words.

This would not be seen on your IELTS Exam!

There are 3 questions, along with asking for your opinion and solutions.

A valid might ask you 2 questions, but no more. Also, there might be 2 main topics, but no more than that.

Sometimes, in mixed question types, you may be asked your opinion and solutions.

Here is the second bad Task 2 question:

Present a written argument or case to an education reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic:

The idea of having a single career is becoming an old-fashioned one. The new fashion will be to have several careers, or ways of earning money, and further education will be something that continues throughout life.

This is a very old question!

That way of beginning, “Present a written argument…” is from a very old IELTS exam, perhaps a decade or more.

Thus, you shouldn’t practice with this question, as you won’t see this on your exam.

This is one advantage of being a 3 Keys System, as we update it as needed according to the modern IELTS Exam.

To be honest, Task 1 structures haven’t changed much! So, just be critical of odd-looking Task 2 questions.

If you are a 3 Keys student, and are doubtful of anything in your preparation, make sure to ask Jessica directly in the course Facebook group.
