Phrasal verbs for work

Many phrasal verbs are especially useful at work.

Today we’ll share some phrasal verbs that are perfect for the workplace.

These will make your conversations more interesting and help you sound more like a native English speaker.

#1: Get off (something)

This means to leave or to exit.

This is frequently used when you’re talking to someone on the phone and you need to end the call.

Examples:
I need to get off the phone in a few minutes because the meeting is going to start.
I get off work in fifteen minutes, but I still have time for a quick meeting now.

#2: Log off

This can mean ending your time for the day.

It can also be used when signing out of a computer or a time keeping device.

Example:
Can you log off and meet me in my office in ten minutes?

#3: Block off

This is the phrasal verb that Lindsay and Michelle used in the beginning of this episode.

It basically means to reserve space in a schedule.

Examples:
Let’s block off some time at the end of the day for a quick check-in.
I can block off your schedule tomorrow morning so you can drop your daughter off at school.

#4: Put off

To put something off means to delay it to a later time or a different day.
