Another very entertaining episode today!

We’ll share 4 comments we know you would never say to us.

We provide insider tips about IELTS along the way.

This is a funny look at our insight about some of the comments we get.

We’ll connect each of these to something that will help you on the exam.

These tips can boost your score!

#1: Please talk about religion more often

We know none of our listeners will ever ask us to talk about religion more.

This came up in the last episode when we were teaching the word “revelation.”

We considered teaching how it is used when discussing religion.

We decided against it, because it wouldn’t help your IELTS score.

Religion on the IELTS exam

You will never be asked about your personal religion on the IELTS exam.

This topic also won’t be in Reading articles.

This exam is given all over the world, so IELTS is careful to not include overly controversial topics.

We talked in a recent episode about how you can definitely share your religious views on IELTS.

Don’t stop yourself from talking about personal things.

However, you won’t be asked about it directly on the exam.

#2: Please share your political opinions more often

Especially on the All Ears English side, we have received comments that we discuss politics too often.

Here on IELTS Energy, we do mention our political beliefs.

This is because topics related to politics often come up on IELTS.

Whether you agree with us or not, what we are saying is a model for how you should communicate on the exam.

Getting that 7 or higher is about approaching natural, native language.

That includes expressing personal opinions.

We avoid going in-depth about our political views, because that won’t help you on IELTS.

Politics on IELTS

Any political statements you make would be as a side note.

It won’t ever be the main theme.

You won’t be directly asked about your political opinions.

You are certainly allowed to share it, but a brief statement is all that will be needed.

You won’t ever have an opportunity to share in-depth political opinions.

#3: Please have more female voices on your podcasts

We have received comments and emails asking why none of our podcast hosts are male.

We just happen to be an all female team!

Historically, radio announcing was a male-dominated industry.

Representation is more and more important in our modern world.

We are proud of our team!

Of course, we have had many men on the show as guests.

  • Student success stories
  • Podcast hosts
  • Teachers

Gender diversity in online education

Before we create new courses or new products, we do a lot of research.

We look at what is out there and already available.

We try to figure out what we can do that is better and different.

When researching for our business course, we discovered that the vast majority of online business courses were very much male-dominated.

We’re proud to have created an online business course with gender representation.

The business professionals we interviewed were both male and female, from a wide variety of industries.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, check it out today!

#4: Please laugh more. You are boring.

We get so many comments telling us how much we’re laughing.

Many of them are light-hearted.

Some are more critical, informing us they don’t like the laughter.

We can’t help it- we’re genuinely having fun!

We definitely get more comments that our listeners love the laughter and positive energy.

Learning is more effective if it’s fun

The more connections you have with new vocabulary and strategies, the easier they are to remember.

If you can associate it with a story we tell, you can remember it and use it on IELTS.

Additionally, this way of learning is more effective in the long term!

It will help you make connections and use the language even after you pass IELTS!

If you grew up feeling like language learning needed to be boring, revise your outlook!

You’ll spend more time studying if you enjoy it!
